After a year off in 2020 due to the pandemic, BHT Sussex’s flagship fundraising event, Bike It Brighton, is back this year on Sunday 11 July 2021.
The event is now in its fourth year and is made up of three unique cycling routes, a 60- and 30-mile cycling challenge across the South Downs and a family-friendly ride at Preston Park Velodrome. It is a great day out for the whole family, with food and entertainment available throughout the day at the velodrome.
Juliet Hinton-Smith, Community Fundraising Officer at BHT Sussex said:
We are so excited to be back with this event for 2021. The money raised at Bike It Brighton will go to First Base, our day centre for rough sleepers in Brighton & Hove. Here, vulnerable people can access support and advice to help them move away from the streets and into a place they can call home. Every penny raised really will make a difference.
We are also inviting local charities to take part in the event and raise money for their causes.
If cycling is not your thing, there are volunteering opportunities to help with promotion in the run up to the event or on the day at Preston Park. Get in touch with the BHT Sussex Fundraising Team for more information at fundraising@bht.org.uk.
