This month the Choir with no Name Brighton performed alongside musicians from the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra for the world premiere of a brand-new song written especially for Brighton, in celebration of the Women’s EURO football tournament. The performance took place on Monday 11 July at an official Fan Party in Brighton’s Victoria Gardens. BHT Sussex is appealing for donations of men’s clothing, sleeping bags, jackets, trainers, underwear and socks, to help people we support in Brighton and Hove. BHT Sussex runs First Base, the largest resource centre for homeless people in Brighton and Hove. Throughout the pandemic we have continued to offer practical essentials such as food and drink, showers and clean dry clothes, alongside in-depth advice and support to move people away from homelessness for good. Last Wednesday volunteers, members of staff and trustees from three local charities, Citizens Advice, Possibility People and BHT Sussex, were joined by representatives from ten legal firms to raise funds for free, independent advice services in the city. The annual 10km sponsored walk, organised by the London Legal Support Trust, has already raised £5,600 and more support is expected over the next week.
