Emergency planned power cuts – information from UK Power Networks

In recent months there has been speculation in newspapers and on television about the prospect of “power sharing” or emergency planned power cuts, in the unlikely scenario of a national energy shortage this winter. UK Power Networks are writing to all the customers on their Priority Services Register to help them prepare for winter. BHT Sussex’s Intern Programme Relaunches

We are pleased to say that BHT Sussex’s Intern Programme is relaunching after an eight month absence. The programme has a newly appointed intern co-ordinator, Matilda Van Orden, who has been getting it back up and running. The Intern Programme is an employability training programme that has been running since 2012. It includes a six-month work placement that provides individuals with the training, skills and experience that increases an intern’s employability. Art Fundraiser Raises Over £3,800 for First Base

Last weekend, Hand on HeArt, a pop-up art exhibition and sale, finally took place after being delayed by the covid-19 pandemic in 2020. The event was organised by volunteers and the BHT Sussex fundraising and publicity team, and featured art donated by over 30 artists from Brighton and beyond. After the very successful private view and open exhibition, we have sold over £3,800 worth of art! This money will fund the essential work of BHT Sussex’s First Base Day Centre who provide vital support and advice to people who are rough sleeping or vulnerably housed. Art Exhibition Fundraising Event Finally Going Ahead

A popup art exhibition and sale, featuring the work of many well-known local artists, will take place on Saturday 1 October 2022, raising essential funds to help people who are rough sleeping or insecurely housed in Brighton and Hove. The event was initially due to take place in May 2020, but had to be postponed twice due to Covid restrictions.
