Want to get advice on how to reduce your energy bill?

We are holding two energy saving events in Hastings and Brighton, where tenants can get advice from experts about how to reduce their energy bill. Hastings Energy saving event: Date: Wednesday 31st October 2-4pm Venue: BHT, Renaissance House, London Road, St Leonards On Sea, TN37 6AN.  Brighton Energy saving event: Date: Wednesday 7th November 2-4pm Venue: BHT, 144 London Road, Brighton, BN1 4PH. Please bring your gas and electricity bills with you, and for Brighton your water bill too.

Volunteers Needed This December

BHT are looking for volunteers across Brighton & Hove to help with their annual Christmas street collection this December, taking place on Friday 21st and Saturday 22nd December 2018.

Slavery Still Exists – Brighton Komedia Film, A Women Captured

On behalf of Sheffield Documentary Festival, Brighton Komedia is showing a documentary about anti-slavery on Monday 29 October at 8.30pm, A Woman Captured.  The film will follow with questions and answers and BHT’s Chief Executive, Andy Winter, will talk of the work of BHT’s Immigration Legal Service. 

BHT Turns 50

BHT, celebrated its 50 anniversary at an event attended by Patricia Norman, BHT’s Life President, the Lord Lieutenant of East Sussex, Peter Field, the Mayor of Brighton and Hove, Cllr Dee Simson, tenants and clients, current and former members of staff, Board members, and supporters of BHT.

Following a recent assessment, BHT has been awarded an accreditation as a Disability Confident employer. Disability Confident is a scheme designed to help employers recruit and retain disabled people and people with health conditions, for their skills and talent. Our next steps will be reviewing and developing our action plan to become a leader. Over the last year we have been working with our internal teams in health and safety, training and human resources, and externally with our local department of work and pension office to develop our standards to ensure all people with disabilities and long-term health conditions are … Read more

Choir With No Name Brighton Growing Strong

The Choir With No Name Brighton, which started up in August (in partnership with BHT), is growing strong, week by week.  Altogether their grand total is around 30 with a range of ages, backgrounds, gender and life stories. Choir members are currently singing songs including 20 Century Boy, Good Vibrations and Lean on Me. The Choir With No Name Brighton is open to anyone who has experienced homelessness, it is absolutely free, followed by a cooked meal.
