The kitchen of BHT’s Archway project has been transformed thanks to a donation from HSBC UK. The care home is a specialised residential mental health service which has been rated as ‘Outstanding’ by the Care Quality Commission.
The Archway project provides intensive support to people with mental health support needs, working closely with other local services. The refurbishment will provide a welcoming space where residents can socialise and form positive relationships in a kitchen where meals can be cooked and enjoyed together.
David Bristowe, Deputy Manager of the Archway Project said:
Our ethos is that positive wellbeing can be achieved by making healthy lifestyle choices. Meal planning, food shopping, prepping ingredients and cooking are essential for sustaining independence, and residents at Archway are supported by specialist staff members to practice these living skills. The new kitchen will provide a more welcoming, homely and therapeutic environment which will ultimately have a hugely positive impact for our residents on their recovery journey.
As part of the ongoing partnership between HSBC UK and BHT, HSBC employees visited the Archway Project last Christmas and helped to redecorate areas of the care home. They also cooked up a delicious Christmas buffet for residents, volunteers and staff to enjoy together.
