World Homelessness Day is coming up soon on 10 October 2019, and this year we are asking local schools, businesses and organisations to support us on this one day by hosting a fundraising event.
Whether this is a bake sale, dress down day or something bigger – we’re here to support you. We have a wealth of resources available to download here, from school and workplace fundraising packs to templates and BHT bunting!
Last year we prevented 949 people from becoming homeless and our First Base Day Centre helped more than a thousand people with food, hot showers, clean clothes, support and advice. However, the demand for our support is high, and we rely on the generosity of the local community to keep many of our services running.
Everyone deserves a safe and secure home. At BHT we meet people from all walks of life: families who cannot find affordable housing; people suffering from addiction and poor mental health; refugees and asylum seekers and many more people with their own reasons for being homeless. We are not here to judge. We are here to support vulnerable people through tough times, help them get back on their feet and provide them with the tools to make long-lasting positive changes in their lives.
