We have an exciting opportunity for a Support Worker – Bank Worker to play a vital role in providing support at our Leylands Road service.

About the role:

As a Support Worker – Bank Worker you will be working for a people-led organisation whose mission is ‘combating homelessness, creating opportunities, promoting change.’

Staff support clients to develop and build on their existing living skills, in order to become more independent and move on to less supported accommodation at the end of their placement.  Staff work in conjunction with other professionals to equip clients with the skills and motivation to become more independent and better able to manage their mental health.

This job is perfect for someone studying psychology or mental health. It is a great first step to gaining valuable experience and skills that you may need to build up your career in this area. The Bank role allows you to have control over your hours, so you are able to work this around university.

Project / Department Details:

Our services are located in Burgess Hill. Oak House is a 15 minute walk from Burgess Hill Town and Station. 54 Leyland’s Road is next to Wivelsfield station.

Oak House & Maple Lodge is a 14-bed registered residential recovery service for clients with mental health diagnoses, dual diagnosis and forensic backgrounds. This service is a mixed service with ages ranging 18 – 85. Clients reside at Oak House for a period of between 2-5 years.

54 Leyland’s Road is a 6 – bed registered residential recovery service in Burgess Hill for adults with mental health diagnoses. This service is male only with ages ranging 18-85. This is a medium-term residential care home and staff support clients with daily living activities.

In all our services we do not provide personal care but in our residential services you will be expected to administer medication, but full training will be provided.

Salary

Our hourly rate is £10.90 per hour Monday to Saturday and for Sundays/Bank Holidays £11.00 per hour. This is with an additional 12.07% holiday pay on top of the hourly rate.

Sleep-in shifts are available to do and payment for this is £50.25 per sleep in.

Hours of Work

You will work as part of a team and as the services are staffed 24/7 you will need to be able to work shifts – this includes weekends / bank holidays and sleep in shifts.  The shifts are as follows:

8:30am-3:30pm or 9am- 4pm

12pm-7pm

Sleep in shifts start from 4pm, go to bed at 11pm, get up at 7am and finish at 12pm
